Stainless Lag Threaded Eyelet installation specs
  • For wood and covered wood surfaces (wood beams, glue lams, timbers, ledge flashing, etc.).
  • Pre-drill surfaces to prevent surface damage. For wood, drill small pilot-hole at least 1/2” deep. For sheet metal flashing over wood, you may need 2 pilot-holes, 1 for the sheet metal and a smaller one for the wood core.
  • For use as Cable Guides, install the small stainless steel screw eyes every 2 feet. Tighter spacing may be required on curved or complex surface shapes.
  • Make sure Cable Guide holds cable within ½” of the installation surface.
When and Where to Use Stainless Lag Threaded Eyelets:
  • The Stainless Lag Threaded Eyelets are designed to be used as Cable Guides in both wood and sheet metal surfaces. Used with the tensioned perimeter cable systems used to secure bird netting enclosures and with overhead grid wire systems.
  • Also may be used with our deer & perimeter fence to create support cables for fence posts.
Stainless Lag Threaded Eyelet Installation Tips:
  • Always pre-drill the surface. This helps prevent damage from splitting.
  • A small screw eye driver (not included) can be used to install the eyelets. Drive the eyelet until the head of the eyelet is touching the surface.
  • Do not use screw eyes in thin sheet metal surfaces. Contact Nixalite of America Inc for alternatives.
  • IMPORTANT: Always make sure the the surface will support the tension from the cable system. Do not attach corner hardware to surfaces in poor condition or where there is no structural support.
  • If attaching in wood, make sure the wood is solid, dry and has no rot or end checking. Do not install any hardware into a wood knot.
  • Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
