Stainless Steel Flange Clips

Tensioned Cable Hardware - Provides a solid perimeter and support foundation to which all types of bird netting can be fastened.

Cable Guides - Hardware designed to keep the cable close to the installation surface and prevent gaps between the surface and the bird netting.

Hammer On Flange Clip Cable Guides
  • Cable Guides designed to hold the net cable to thick steel flanges without drilling holes, welding or chemical bonding.
  • Available in black oxide coated spring steel or in spring temper stainless steel.
  • Available in 3 size ranges, in 25 count boxes:
1/8” to ¼” thick steel flanges
5/16” to ½” thick steel flanges
9/16” to ¾” thick steel flanges
  • Use black oxide hammer on flanges for installations that have overhead cover or are inside a semi-enclosed structures.
  • Use stainless steel hammer-on flange clips for installations exposed to the environment all the time or in harsh environment that would corrode regular carbon steel hardware.
  • Net cable goes INSIDE the flange clips!! It does NOT run through the hole on the tang of the clip.
  • Install all cable guides every 2 feet along the path of a straight cable run. Tighter spacing (closer together) may be needed on curved or complex surfaces to keep the cable close to the installation surfaces.
  • Stainless steel hammer on flange clips are sold by the 25 count box.

Hammer On Flange Clip Cable Guide installation specs
  • For use as cable guides on structural steel forms including I-beams, C-channel, Z-purlins, steel plate and more without drilling holes, welding or chemical bonding.
  • Measure the thickness of the steel flange or edge then choose the correct size of flange clip. There are 3 sizes to choose from:
For steel 1/8” to ¼” thick
For steel 5/16” to ½” thick
For steel 9/16” to ¾” thick
  • Mark the cable guide locations along the path of the net cable. Space 2 feet on center. Tighter spacing may be needed on curved or more complicated surfaces.
  • Position flange clips so the tang (the strip of metal with the hole in it) is on top or above the flange. This is to keep the tang from contacting the netting during and after installation. This also serves as a convenient handle when driving the clip onto the flange.
  • BEFORE YOU INSTALL. Do not hammer the flange clip flush to the flange. Leave a gap of about 3/16” between the flange and the flange clip. This gap is where the net cable passes between the flange clip and steel. It allows for the tensioning of the cable during and after installation.
INSTALLATION TIP: As you are driving the flange clips onto the steel flange, place a 3/16” spacer between the steel and the flange clip (an Allen Wrench works well for this). With the spacer inside the flange clip, drive the flange clip tight to the spacer. Pull out the spacer and you have the correct gap through which the net cable passes.
When and Where to Use the Hammer On Flange Clip Cable Guides:

The Hammer On Flange Clips are designed to be used as Cable Guides on structural steel forms including I-beams, C-channel, Z-purlins, steel plate and more without drilling holes, welding or chemical bonding. Used with the tensioned perimeter cable systems used to secure bird netting enclosures and with overhead grid wire systems.
Hammer On Flange Clip Cable Guide Installation Tips:
  • As you are driving the flange clips onto the steel flange, place a 3/16” spacer between the steel and the flange clip (an Allen Wrench works well for this). With the spacer inside the flange clip, drive the flange clip tight to the spacer. Pull out the spacer and you have the correct gap through which the net cable passes.
  • Make sure you are installing the flange clip in the right spot. You will have to destroy these clips to get them off once installed. They do not move after installation.
  • Always install on clean, unpainted steel surfaces. The hardened claws of the flange clips bite into the steel when installed. They will damage painted or coated surfaces.
  • Always have the tang (strip of metal with hole) on top. This keeps it from contacting the netting during and after installation. It also serves as a useful handle while driving the flange clips onto the flanges.
  • Use the flange clips on steel ONLY. Do not attempt to install on wood, masonry, composite, soft metals or hollow surfaces. Contact Nixalite of America Inc for alternatives on these surfaces.
  • IMPORTANT: Always make sure the the surface will support the tension from the cable system. Do not attach corner hardware to surfaces in poor condition or where there is no structural support.
  • Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
