Ferrules

Tensioned Cable Hardware - Provides a solid perimeter and support foundation to which all types of bird netting can be fastened. 

Connection Hardware - Hardware used to connect the cable to the corner hardware, turnbuckles and the netting mesh.

Zinc Plated Copper Ferrules for 3/32” diameter Net Cable
  • Zinc over Copper Oval Ferrules (aka Oval Sleeves).
  • For 3/32” (2.4 mm) diameter wire rope. Use for stainless steel and galvanized cables.
  • Ferrules are the crimping component of all loop connections, lap connections, splices and other methods of joining cables together.
  • When properly installed, ferrules will support 40% to 60% of the rated breaking strength of the cable to which they are attached.
  • Must be installed with Nixalite Hand Swaging Tool.
  • Important!! Not for lifting. These light duty ferrules serve to hold the tensioned cables in place but they are not for any type of lifting or suspension of overhead loads.

When and Where to use Stainless Steel Net Cable:
  • Use on 3/32” diameter cable. Can be used on stainless steel and galvanized steel cables. Must be installed with our hand swaging tool. There must be a minimum of 2 Ferrules per connection.
  • Most commonly used with Nixalite’s Tensioned Perimeter Cable Hardware. Can be used with deer and perimeter fencing hardware and an overhead cable grid systems or anywhere a 3/32” cable is used.
  • Use for short runs of cable only. Maximum unbroken run of cable for ferrules is 25 feet (7.62 M).
  • Important!! Not for lifting. These light duty ferrules serve to hold the tensioned cables in place but they are not for any type of lifting or suspension of overhead loads.
Maximum cable length for Ferrule Use:
  • Unbroken Cable Run of 25 feet (7.62 M) = 2 Ferrules at each loop connection.
  • If installing cable and netting or fence in high wind areas, use 3 Ferrules at each loop connection.
  • Use of Ferrules on unbroken runs of cable of more than 25 feet (7.62 M) is not recommended.
Ferrule Installation Tips:
  • Always use a minimum of 2 Ferrules for each loop connection. Use 3 Ferrules at each loop connection in high wind or high traffic areas.
  • Remember to slide ferrules onto cable before passing cable through hardware eyelets.
  • Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
