Sidewinders for Concrete Cable Guide Installation Tips:
-
Always use the masonry drill included with each 25 count Sidewinder box
-
Always use the #Sammy Socket driver to install Sidewinders. This is specifically made to install the Sidewinders without over tightening.
-
After drilling the ¼” x 2” hole, blow out all debris and apply a small quantity of adhesive in the hole before installing the Sidewinder for Concrete.
-
IMPORTANT: Always make sure the the surface will support the tension from the cable system. Do not attach corner hardware to surfaces in poor condition or where there is no structural support.
-
Always follow the Cable and Cable Hardware maintenance schedules available from Nixalite of America Inc.
When you purchase a 25 count box of the Sidewinders for Concrete (#SWC 2.0) you get a carbide tipped masonry drill bit to drill the 1/4" diameter and 2" deep hole for each Sidewinder. If you purchase other masonry bits to drill these holes - MAKE SURE that the carbide does not exceed 1/4" wide (0.250").
The Sidewinder manufacturer recommends using a hammer action drill to drill the holes in the solid concrete. Make sure to blow the cuttings out of the hole before you seat the sidewinder using the Sammy Socket Driver (#Sammy Socket).
